The Petriverse of Pierre Jardin: by Paul A. Harris

aN O THING is written in stone

The expression "Nothing is written in stone" invokes geologic processes as forms of writing.
The striking circular white mark on this smooth ovoid stone resembles a zero written on a rock.
A petric poetic perspective might read it as a 'natural' rebus for "nothing is written in stone."
To evoke that notion, but also question its anthropocentric projection, Pierre Jardin displayed it with a caption that reduced the round signifier to an asignifying object.
